Jill Stein on Why She's Running for President – A Radio Interview

Jill Stein is campaigning as a Green Party candidate for the 2016 presidential race. She says we need real solutions for the economic, social and environmental crises we face. But the broken political system is only making things worse. It's time to build a people's movement to end unemployment and poverty; avert climate catastrophe; build a sustainable, just economy; and recognize the dignity and human rights of every person.

She argues that independent politics are the best way to build progressive power, that the Democratic Party is the historic graveyard of progressive movements, and that people currently supporting Sanders will need a progressive alternative, a Plan B, as the Democratic Party Establishment will do everything possible to prevent Sanders from becoming their party's nominee.

It would be tragic to waste an upsurge where folks are coming together around an anti-corporate, anti-austerity program by ending with the whimper of voting for Hillary or some other corporate Democrat and calling it a day.
