James Young is a long-time member of Democratic Socialists of America, professor of history emeritus at Edinboro University, retired Pennsylvania Social Services Union staff member, and author of Union Power: United Electrical Workers in Erie, Pennsylvania (Monthly Review Press, 2017) and numerous historical and literary articles. He is treasurer of the Pennsylvania Labor History Society and a member of the National Writers Union.
