Anti-Regime and Anti-War Statement

The United Nations Human Rights Council has rightly described the situation of the people of Iran as being caught between two major dangers: external attacks and severe internal repression.

The unjust war between the regime of the Islamic Republic on one side, and the United States and Israel on the other, has created dire conditions that are highly likely to lead to the danger of breaking out of civil wars and the expansion of ethnic, cultural, and religious cleansing. This situation will destroy, or severely limit, the possibility of advancing progressive, democratic, and participatory struggles from below, which are the main foundation for the growth of a democratic alternative.

Responsibility for igniting this destructive war lies with two forces: first, the policies of repression, discrimination, inequality, and the imposition of economic hardship by the Islamic Republic regime, along with its destabilizing regional interventions; and second, the aggressive , dominating and colonial policies of Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump.

Recent efforts by Trump and Netanyahu to open proxy fronts among Kurdish and Baluch nationalities are not aimed at achieving democracy, but rather at fuelling civil wars and a “war of all against all” scenario in Iran, in which the suffering people would be the primary victims.

The Baluch people, who live in a strategic region and have long been subjected to oppression and discrimination under both the Pahlavi regime and the Islamic Republic, may partially fall into the grave mistake of seeking their salvation through reliance on foreign powers such as the United States and Israel. Ignoring the reality that the region, due to cross-border extremist and jihadist activities, is on the verge of “Somalisation” will have irreversible consequences.

We believe that the real solution lies in solidarity with progressive, anti-war, and anti–Islamic Republic struggles: an effort to build a democratic and decentralized country that rejects all forms of ethnic, national, religious, gender, and regional discrimination. Only within a decentralized and secular structure of power, emphasizing equal citizenship rights, fair participation in economic resources, and cultural freedoms, can real conditions for eliminating discrimination be achieved.

Accordingly, we, a group of Baluch abroad, while opposing this reactionary war and emphasizing the necessity of overthrowing the Islamic Republic, declare our solidarity with Iran’s progressive forces. We consider the approach of opportunistic forces and “ethnic” puritan policies, those that resort to foreign dominating and destructive powers, as contrary to the realization of equal rights for the Baluch people and all oppressed people of Sistan and Baluchistan.

In conclusion, alongside all progressive forces across the country, we call for the immediate release of all political prisoners and the abolition of executions and torture.
