Rosa Luxemburg (1871–1919) was a Polish and naturalized German revolutionary socialist and Marxist philosopher. She was a leading figure in the German Social Democratic Party and co-founder of the anti-war Spartacus League. She was executed by the Freikorps during the Sparticist uprising.
