Support for International Solididarity Convoy to Ukraine
Statement from Ukraine Solidarity Network, U.S.: “Our solidarity with Ukraine is not just about Ukraine: it is inseparable from defense of an international order that protects human rights — for everyone, everywhere.”

Dear friends,
In 2026-27, the Ukrainian people will face the terrible prospect of a fifth winter of invasion and a war of attrition that has already lasted longer than the First World War; the next winter may even be harsher than the one that has passed.
Ukraine will continue to face the destruction of its energy, water and transport infrastructure; further bombardment of its schools, hospitals and residential neighborhoods; the erasure of its culture and language in the Russian-occupied territories; its captured soldiers and non-combatant civilians being murdered, tortured and subjected to sexual violence at the hands of the invader; and its children being kidnapped.
These are not only humanitarian tragedies — they violate basic human rights as enshrined in international humanitarian law. They are war crimes under the Rome Statute and acts of aggression explicitly prohibited by the UN Charter.
The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants based on the international law applying to these crimes, but the great powers do not have the slightest intention of allowing them to be applied.
Despite this betrayal of their rights, the Ukrainian people continue their unwavering resistance, on and behind the front line. They continue to affirm their right to sovereignty, their democratic aspirations, and to demand that the principles of international law that should protect all of us also be applied to Ukraine.
Multiply solidarity with Ukraine!
Last winter, civil society emergency aid campaigns across Europe and internationally helped the people of Ukraine survive. Now, however, aid to Ukraine must be lifted to an even higher level: our solidarity must become more international, more coordinated and more visible.
We are living in a moment when the logic of power is systematically placed above any respect for human rights and the laws upholding them. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a visible expression of this common pattern, of powerful states and governments that sacrifice human rights and international law to their geopolitical interests.
That means that our solidarity with Ukraine is not just about Ukraine: it is inseparable from defense of an international order that protects human rights — for everyone, everywhere. Let everyone contribute who wants to revive the spirit of international solidarity against war and the rising far-right, authoritarian and fascist menace!
Build the Solidarity Convoy!
This is the spirit and goal of the International Trade Union and Social Movement Solidarity Convoy to Ukraine, which will take place in the second half of November of this year 2026. It is an ambitious initiative that will show the whole world that Ukraine is not alone.
The convoy will seek to respond to the diverse and evolving needs of the people of Ukraine by working closely with trade unions, civil society organizations, community groups and other local actors. The aid transported will be determined through ongoing dialogue with those directly affected and engaged on the ground. It will prioritize the materials and resources identified as most urgently needed, while taking into International Trade Union and Social Movement Solidarity Convoy to Ukraine.
Autumn 2026 account what can be most effectively sourced and delivered from the different countries and territories participating in the convoy.
To this end, the convoy will travel through cities and capitals across Europe, holding events where trade unions, solidarity committees, NGOs, and feminist, environmentalist, and LGBTIQ+ groups can come together to express their support.
The Solidarity Convoy is being built because we believe that a just peace for Ukraine must be grounded in respect for territorial integrity, accountability for war crimes, compensation for the enormous damage inflicted on the country and the reconstruction of effective multilateral institutions guaranteeing these just goals.
This is not Ukraine’s cause alone, but of everyone who believes that respect for human rights enshrined in international law and not force must govern relations between all peoples and states.

We invite trade union organizations at all levels, feminist, LGBTIQ+, environmental and humanitarian organizations, those who oppose fascism and the far-right, and those who fight for a just peace for Ukraine, to support this call and join the project.
