C.L.R. James and the Race Question

On March 25, 2016, New Politics sponsored a forum centered on its release of a never-before-published lecture by Afro-Trinidadian socialist C.L.R. James on Oliver Cox’s Caste, Class and Race.

Speaking at the forum were:

Paul Ortiz, oral historian and CLR James expert whose University of Florida research team restored the lecture.

and

Scott McLemee, a C.L.R. James expert and a member of the New politics editorial board.

The panel was moderated by Nancy Holmstrom.
